No Fishing - Posted on 01/11/2008
At least not yesterday, there wasn't. While out driving the back roads, I passed by this private farm pond a few miles from my house. The owners keep it well-stocked with fish, and you can usually find them out there most summer evenings. Yesterday, however, it was a lonely place, with only the sound of the wind blowing through the bare trees and the distant call of a crow to break the silence of a winter day.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments on the previous image. My apologies for the extended absence from posting - post-holiday activities and unkind weather conditions have kept me from getting out with the camera. I also hope to get back to my normal routine soon of visiting/commenting on all the wonderful images in your photoblogs. Have a great weekend everyone! -- Kim

I really like the detail on the near side and the softness on the other side. Very nice.

Looks so peaceful. I like that you only see the trees as a reflection in the pond. Adds a wonderful dream feel to this image.

Gorgeous, Kim. This almost looks like it was shot in the spring. It has a soft quality to it. Filter? Gaussian blur? My imagination?
