My Backyard - Posted on 10/04/2007
This is my view from the access road behind the house, looking south. Taken about a week ago, you can see that there isn't much fall color in the trees yet, but by mid-to-late October, they will be ablaze - red, gold and orange, like a patchwork quilt. The color I do have is from the goldenrod in the fields and some of the tall wild grasses that have changed color, and one lone tree in the center that is a deep shade of red.

Perfect time to get a shot of fall galloping at you. The single tree is very effective. Beautiful shot.

What a beautiful scene. That one, red tree popped right out at me and the hills are lovely in the background. The part of Ohio where I was from was completely flat. I'm not a flat-lander :) I'll be looking forward to seeing the changed leaves.

That's going to be a spectacular view very shortly. How lucky you are to have it at your doorstep! I think the colors in my neck of the woods are already largely spent, but I look forward to seeing more of autumn here in the next few weeks. :)

Beautiful picture Kim. Love the country setting and the sky adds to the overall image. I too am looking forward to the fall. I can see our countrysides are very similar. Nice work.

Your backyard? WOW! The composition with the line of the meadow is really good and the panorama format works really well here.
  • don - 10/10/2007, 11:55 pm

Do I see a hint of Autumn? I sure do and of course as a former "Buckeye", I do miss the "rolling hills of Ohio" as you have well captured. Nicely done.

This is a lovely shot. I like the panoramic crop, which you have filled out very well. The soft curve of the slope balances the photo very nicely and the single red tree catches the eye. If I may suggest a small improvement, it would be to crop out the earthy bit on the right, at the top of the slope.

What a gorgeous view! What I wouldn't give to see such a sight. :) The reds-oranges in this photo really pop out more than anything. It makes it quite interesting. Great composition too, the hill dipping through the centre looks lovely!

I love the curves in your neighborhood hills! The foreground curve of the light green hill with the darker green of the trees in back (and that one red-leafed tree) is just great!!
