Eastern Tiger - Posted on 09/30/2007
An Eastern Tiger Swallowtail perches on some tall ironweed that grows down near the pond. I shot this one when I slipped away from the festivities for a little while during my family reunion back in August. Couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Beautiful picture, love the colors and detail. Kinda reminds me of a Monarch butterfly. These type are my favorite kinds.

Ohhhh I love the color and movement on this. The color on the wings sure stands out against the purple on the flowers.

Once again I am astounded by this shot. Butterflies see me and they streak off like I am the scariest thing they have ever seen.
